BUD POWELL “The Scene Changes Amazing Bud Powell” RVG, P, DG, LAM, Blue Note BLP 4009 Mono Vinyl
This is 1959, first edition, “RVG” stamped, Laminated Cover, Deep Groove, “P” pressing of BUD POWELL’s “The Scene Changes The Amazing Bud Powell” on the Deep Groove “47 West 63rd” labels of Blue Note BLP 4009. Musicians include Bud Powell – piano, Paul Chambers – bass, Art Taylor – drums.
VINYL plays with consistent medium-level surface noise (i.e, crackle, static, ?? or ????, relative to the volume of the music/instruments), with consistent pops and ticks. Some loud. But ensemble sections are clear, dynamic and strong. No distortion. No skips. Good gloss. Numerous hairline marks, handful feelable. (If you can’t feel it, you won’t hear it). The Deep Groove “47 West 63rd” labels are clean, spindle wear, and writing in ink. See photos.
LAMINATED COVER is in good shape. Some peeling. Corners worn. Top and bottom seams show cracking, 3” tape in middle. Spine taped end to end. “BLUE NOTE RECORDS., 47 West 63rd St., New York 23” back jacket shows fading, tape on spine and seams. Please see photos.
This LP was play-tested on a high-end audio system. RECORD CLEANED ON ULTRASONIC CLEANER.
