This is a RARE ORIGINAL UK 1ST PRESSING PROMO SAMPLE COPY - PSYCH / APPLE RECORDS / THE BEATLES RELATED - single by BRUTE FORCE from 1969, ORIGINAL UK 1ST PRESSING PROMO SAMPLE COPY IN GREAT CONDITION VINYL !!!
This is a RARE PROMO SAMPLE COPY of this 1969 single, and this is the ORIGINAL UK 1ST PRESSING ISSUE !!! This was PROMO COPY as can be seen by the PROMO SAMPLE STICKER on side A. label !!! This is the RAREST SINGLE on APPLE RECORDS !!! It was never released to the shops and EMI did not even want to press the record, so APPLE RECORDS pressed the single privately, here is the story behind this legendary single, The Beatles send these singles to friends and this was the only copy I have seen as a FACTORY SAMPLE - NOT FOR SALE : "In 1967, Friedland recorded as Brute Force with the album, I, Brute Force, Confections of Love, which was produced by John Simon, later renowned for his work with The Band. In late 1968, Brute Force recorded his song King of Fuh which is the story of a mythical king who ruled the kingdom of Fuh. The music and lyrics begin innocuously until they get to these lines: “I said the Fuh King—he went to wherever he wanted to go/Mighty mighty Fuh King/All hail the Fuh King.”
After the song was recorded, a musical friend of Friedland, Tommy Dawes of The Cyrkle, forwarded it to his manager, Nat Weiss, who knew Beatles manager Brian Epstein. According to Friedland, George Harrison was very receptive to the song and said so in a phone call. But EMI, Apple’s distributor, refused even to press the record, much less distribute it. Eventually, Apple privately issued the single for UK release, planning to stock mail order outlets and selected record shops. The distribution plan never really caught on and the record quickly disappeared.”
The tracks are: KING OF FUH / NOBODY KNOWS.
The single came out on APPLE RECORDS catalogue number APPLE 8.
VISUAL condition of the vinyl is in VG++ / VG+++ condition ( scuffs and marks + PROMO STICKER on side A. label !!!) + ORIGINAL COMPANY SLEEVE !!!
