Description
Approximately 30 minutes on this 16 inch, black lacquer acetate coated aluminum, 33 1/3 rpm disc. This disc was recorded for reference purposes only and not available to the general pubic, very rare!
This disc contains approximately 30 minutes of live radio featuring Bruce Grant broadcasting from WGRD in Grand Rapids, MI from March 7, 1956
Bruce Grant was a radio legend in the Grand Rapids, MI area for decades
The broadcast begins with Headline news by Bruce Grant, including weather Dwight Eisenhower will run for re-election, the threat of Russia, etc. The news portion is approximately 3 minutes. At this point the program becomes a D. J. style broadcast, with the songs "Granada" The Dorsey Brothers, "Flowers Mean Forgiveness" Frank Sinatra, "Tis Wonderful" Julie London, "We'll Be Together Again" Buddy Morrow, "Hot Digity" Perry Como
Bruce Grant provides the advertising announcements for the local Grand Rapids advertisers, including Eberhard's Grocery Stores, Wurzburg's Department Store, Crystal Flash Gasoline, S & S Television & Appliance (they have hundreds of TVs!), Jacobsen Heating & Cooling Company, etc
Interesting local Grand Rapids radio, particularly interesting are the announcements for the local businesses
Disc is in Very Good to Excellent condition with Very Good to Excellent sound. There is some light radio buzz from the original source of the recording that does not detract from the enjoyment of the audio
