Description
Not far short of 40 years on, this is probably a unique opportunity. An original, still sealed and therefore unplayed UK copy of 'Brian Jones Presents the Pipes of Pan at Joujouka' from 1971 - one of Mojo Magazine's ultimate albums.
This is a genuine original copy on COC 49100 and the example offered here is probably the only way now to obtain a mint unsoiled copy of this beautiful gatefold sleeve together with an unplayed mint copy of the original vinyl and a never before handled gatefold insert.
This is the version with the CORRECT title on the front, and you may agree with me that this version is probably no less rare than any of the other stickered or non-stickered versions, the Stones reasonably having few expectations regarding sales figures on account of the album's niche interest.
This is a historic recording made by Brian Jones in Morocco when he felt no longer required by the other Stones who were busy making Let It Bleed. Brian recorded the musicians making "unearthly sounds that whipped the participants into trances, seemingly possessed and unable to stop ..." (MOJO). There is also a very interesting article on the making of this unique album in the current issue of record Collector (issue 345, see pags 67/68).
As it happened, these two sides of unbroken single tracks remained unreleased until two years after Brian's death, and consequently sank without trace, the sole protaganist unable to promote his 'baby'.
This sealed package will also contain the gatefold insert (if you wish me to open the seal to confirm it is there before sending I will do so but otherwise the successful bidder must accept that the insert is present and correct). There will be no problem ... the seal is fully intact on all sides so there is absolutely NO possibility that the package has been tampered with.
