Amazing debut Lp from The Shadow's drummer full of killer 60's pop, beat, hammond, sitar, psych cuts!
Fantastic line-up too including library & Mohawks legends 'Alan Hawkshaw', 'Alan Skidmoor' & 'Big Jim Sullivan'.
A nice copy of this super-rare album. Brian Bennett’s (The Shadows) first solo album and a classic album in its own right as well as an awesome breaks/beats record.
"Long before Blood Sweat & Tears, Colosseum, Keef Hartley, Chicago et al Bennett came up with 'Change of Direction' a massive departure from his work in the drum chair with The Shadows. Tracks such as 'Tricycle' show the influence of Roland Kirk (great playing by Skid) making it a hugely underrated album. I'd be inclined to think Bennett was the first of the jazz/rock pioneers especially with the use of such players as Skid, Harold McNair, Big Jim Sullivan, Herbie Flowers etc. Bennett is a wonderfully tight, crisp player, with great taste and drive. His solo 'Little B' with The Shadows was always a show highlight. Here he truly demonstrates how he effortlessly took his playing further. Also of course he's both a great arranger and composer in his own right"
