Brat – Not Quite Right/ Long Time Away –Red Rooster Records (1974 US)
Condition: EX (label off centre - but not close to dead wax)
This is in fact the first release by Artful Dodger prior to signing to Columbia and to big shot management team Leber-Krebs. Artful Dodger never really made it, but were big favourites as they really hit the spot with their special mix of Power Pop /Byrdsian jangle and upfront raspy Faces rock.
Not Quite Right finds the band at the boogier Faces edge of the spectrum, although the intro is reminiscent of Wayside and there’s enough melodicism to elevate them way above being average boogie merchants. Long time Away is simply gorgeous and is very different to the version found on their first album.

Grading. I don’t use the term Mint. I don’t believe that records manufactured over 30 years ago, even if unplayed, can be called mint.
Grading: Record/Cover
EX: Means either “near mint” to some very light marks with hardly any noticeable noise. Sleeve has no or only minor wear.
VG: Means means some light noticeable background sound and more pronounced marks which do not affect the listening experience in a major way. Sleeve may be creased, minor discolouring, the odd fraying, some ringwear, seam split and perhaps some writing.
G: Means noticeable clicks or pop, may have scratches, but doesn’t skip or jump. Sleeve may be ripped, tape repair, large writing, sticker removal damage etc...
Fair: Not a pleasant listening experience, the disc is damaged, just a stop gap before upgrading. Sleeve is badly damaged, not one to frame on the wall...
Poor: I don’t sell records in poor condition
Postage: I offer reduced postage if more than 1 record is purchased: UK = 50p for each extra single, Europe =75p and USA/Asia = £1 extra. If ordering more than 1 single, please await my invoice.
All records sent out in professional mailers with 2 stiffeners. Records removed from sleeve if housed in picture sleeve.
Insurance strongly recommended for high priced items and compulsory for packages of a value of over £80. Insurance added at cost. I retain proof of postage for all items.
