Axel Boman has long been a fan of Mad Professor's radical dub translations of Massive Attack cuts. Last year, the Studio Barnhus co-founder decided he wanted a similarly wild dub-wise translation of his 2022 double album LUZ/Quest For Fire and tasked Stockholm soundsystem crew Trensum Tribe to do the honours. The results are undeniably inspired, with the Swedish dub and roots crew combining key elements of Boman's original cuts with their own booming basslines, trippy effects and dub-wise sonic ticks. Highlights include spaced-out opener 'Sottopassagio Dub', the undeniably Mad Professor-esque dub drift of 'Atra Dub', the deep space steppers flex of 'One Two Dub' and the heavy dub house hypnotism of 'Nowhere Good Dub'.
