THIS IS HIS RARE FIRST RECORD
This is a beautiful stock copy of Bobby's first 1956 single on Decca Records. Both sides are in near mint condition. The labels are clean and nice.
This single comes with the original vintage Decca sleeve.
This rare 45 would make a valued edition to the collection of any fan of this legendary entertainer.
Here's some history on this record:
Bobby's first record:
Bobby Darin was a mere lad of 19 when he first stepped into a recording studio in March of 1956 to record his first Decca single, "Rock Island Line" b/w "Timber". Darin's cover of "Rock Island Line," while not veering far from the Lonnie Donegan rendition, displayed the impeccable sense of time that would become a Darin signature. "Timber" a Darin original co-authored with early songwriting partner Don Kirshner, is driven by the same influence that would help propel "Mack The Knife" to number one in 1959.
Immediately following the recording of his first record, Decca informed Bobby that in just four days he would be making his national television debut performing “Rock Island Line” on "Stage Show", the program that had just previously featured the young Elvis Presley.

We ship two or three times a week. In most cases your item will ship within 48 hours of payment. Personal check orders are held until the check clears the bank. To qualify for a combined shipping discount all items need to be purchased within the same 7 day period and must be able to fit in one box of reasonable size.
