A finer voice than that of Bobby "Blue" Bland would be very difficult to find in all of Rhythm & Blues. This refined, infinitely delicate, but at the same time robust and masculine voice, continues to be - some 50 years from the inception of his career - one of the most precise instruments in modern American music. In the 50’s and 60’s Bobby Bland outsold any other black artist with the possible exception of James Brown. He was, to put it mildly, the engine behind the modern soul movement. His mid-60’s hits were masterpieces of simple elegance, with vocalizing so stylish and classy one could suffer a complete emotional meltdown just listening to his voice.. The songs are: Ain’t nothing you can do - If I hadn’t called you back - Today - Steal away - After it’s too late - I’m gonna cry - Loneliness hurts - When you put me down - If you could read my mind - Reconsider - Black Night - Blind Man. This, last , song, puts Little Milton’s original version - a strong, passionate song in its own right - to shame. And, mind you, if you have only heard Grateful Dead’s or Van Morrison’s version of ‘Turn on your love light’, his signature tune, it is now time to hear the real thing. Don’t fail to grab this beauty - before someone else does.! Finding a still sealed original MONO copy?!?! Forget it – not even a HOPE!!! This may be the last one you will ever see.

·                   CONDITION:

·                   RECORD

(IMPORTANT NOTE: unless otherwise noted, ALL records are graded visually, and NOT play-graded!; we grade records under the strong, diffuse room light or discrete sunlight)

(a)            THE ALBUM IS STILL FACTORY SEALED AND IS BELIEVED TO BE PERFECTLY MINT. Please note: sealed items are assumed to be mint and are sold as-is, as we have no way of inspecting them. For our policy on still sealed records ►click here (PLEASE READ BEFORE PLACING A BID).

(b)            The record is apparently pressed on a beautiful, thick, inflexible vinyl, which was usually used for the first or very early pressings. Usually, the sound on such thick vinyl pressings is full-bodied, vivid, and even dramatic. Do not expect to obtain such a majestic analog sound from a digital recording!

(c)           True Stereo copies of this album are NOT known to exist (EXCEPT as late reissues)

(d)            Of course, this is a full-bodied ANALOG recording, and not an inferior, digital recording!!!
