Bobb Trimble -- Iron Curtain Innocence LP

Original 1980 private pressing on Vengeance Records (matrix # BT 8458, ©1978,1979,1980).

This is an authentic copy of one of the rarest and most sought-after DIY acid folk/real-people psych LPs, the debut self-released LP from the great acid hope of Worcester Mass., Mr. Bobb Trimble.

"Locked in a timeless world of bittersweet folkpsychedelia, Bobb recorded this first ultraobscure LP at a time when absolutely no one made psych LPs. Hits roughly the same spot as his more well-known 2nd LP with three awesome tracks at the outset and other winners scattered about; a couple weaker moments but all over a brilliant LP - blows most 60s psych LPs away. Side 1 is Bobb in 1980 with the Violent Reactions, side 2 features a somewhat sparser sound, recorded in 1978. A superrare 45 was pulled from this LP. One Mile From Heaven (long version) a note on origin: I am auctioning both original Bobb Trimble LPs this week, Harvest of Dreams and Iron Curtain Innocence (starting a few days later) -- both of these I purchased many years ago from a Worcester-area college radio station which was liquidating its record library. This station had a large collection of rare early 80's independent punk, new wave, and garage LPs; either Bobb Trimble sent these to the station as promos, or their music director purchased them locally for the library. Iron Curtain Innocence was processed as most of their LPs were, with filing stickers on the cover; Harvest of Dreams, however, was never even opened, and remained still sealed in their collection. These are both guaranteed authentic copies, not represses or fakes.

VG/NM condition -- cover has two filing stickers, one across top left corner with number written in yellow marker, the other a blue dot applied with scotch tape across spine; both top and bottom edges have two-inch splits at corner with opening seam (NOT in the middle where the record could have slipped through and been worn); cover has light wear, with some minor wrinkling and creasing; vinyl is free from surface scuffs and scratches, has a nice luster with just some light general wear, minor spindle marks, plays beautifully with no surface noise but for a few minor pops at the extreme beginning of side 2 (not from a scratch, could maybe be dealt with if cleaned on a machine); labels are clean. Graded conservatively using Goldmine standards [G / G+ / VG / VG+ / NM / MINT] -- MINT grade only used if record is brand new.

All LPs are packaged in sturdy Bags Unlimited LP shippers, with vinyl (in original innersleeve) removed from cover and placed securely in poly sleeve next to cover, to protect cover spine. And LPs are protected by extra cushion and hard packaging.
