Artists/Title   "Bob Zurke & Joe Rushton: Informal Sessions: The Early Years"

Notes:  These recordings were made at the home of Squirrel Ashcraft in the summer of 1937.  Rushton plays clarinet on 5 tracks.

I guess Zurke is best known for hammering out heavy boogie with Bob Crosby's band but here he shows that he had rare skill, delicacy & imagination when needed.

The cover tells that this album was produced not for profit but for distribution amongst Squirrel Ashcraft's family & friends.  I bought it out of a record producer's estate sale.

Songs:

  • Improvisation # 1
  • same # 2
  • same # 3
  • Poor Butterfly
  • Hobson Street Blues / Little Rock Getaway
  • Tea For Two
  • Body And Soul   plus side 2

Vinyl Condition:   NM

Cover Condition  VG++

ITEMSFEEDBACK/DETAILED SELLER RATINGS    Given the choice between getting a negative feedback or a score of 1 or 2 on my DSRs I would take the negative feedback anyday. The reason is that low DSRs can cause my items to slip down toward the last items of most searches.  That's very damaging to my sales     Strange as it may seem my Feedback Score has now assumed less significance for me.

I know that this is not always understood but it's a fact.  So much for that.... but PLEASE if you are not 100% satisfied talk to me.  I am not hard to get along with.

GRADING:  The condition of records in most collections tends to fall into a fairly narrow range.  So I play a few records and decide upon the collection's general quality before making decisions on each item.  Needs must that the vast majority of my records are graded visually.  So I grade conservatively to Goldmine standards.  I think most buyers are familiar with that system.  However, often I will use the term "Excellent" which is vinyl that I rate between VG++ & Near Mint.  Please note that I only use the term Mint when I am certain that the vinyl is unplayed or perhaps carefully played once by me so as to burn myself a CD.

I am happy to combine mailing.  Please allow me to invoice you before you make payment because eBay does not always show the buyer the correct cost for mailing multiple items.

FEEDBACK RESPONSE

My feedback is fixed to respond automatically to any positive feedback that is posted for me.  This saves me precious time and as any seller will tell you, the hardest part of trading on eBay is finding the time to list your inventory.  It is a very labour intensive process

Please note that I cannot be held liable for delays caused by customs departments. .
