Description
BOB DYLAN - daddy rolling stone Double LP released in Holland in 1970, containing miscellaneous Bob Dylan stuff, with The Band present on the second LP. Original pressing from 1970. It comes with an insert justifying the price of the LP. The sleeve has been damaged by moisture, see pictures. But the beautiful Peter Pontiac drawings are present as well, usually they are gone. The sleeve is in fair condition and the records are in NEAR MINT condition.
The first LP contains purely acoustic guitar songs, taken from various Dylan gigs. On the second LP there are mostly basement songs, probably the ones available on The Genuine Basement Tapes. Unique for this release are the tracks "I shall be released" (with Richard's falsetto in the chorus) and "Minstrel Boy" (chorus loudly sung by the whole Band including Levon and Rick). "Minstrel Boy," "Wild Mountain Thyme" and "To Ramona" are probably from the Isle of Wight concert in 1969 in which Dylan appeared with the Band. Dylan played all those songs ("Minstral Boy" was only written in '69 and debuted there) later appearing on Self Portrait. Dylan never played "Wild Mountain Thyme" again until the Neverending Tour began in '89.
