Slow Train Coming is the 19th studio album by American singer-songwriter Bob Dylan, released on August 20, 1979 by Columbia Records. It was Dylan's first effort since converting to Christianity, and all of the songs either express his strong personal faith, or stress the importance of Christian teachings and philosophy. The evangelical nature of the record alienated many of Dylan's existing fans; at the same time, many Christians were drawn into his fan base. This 33 rpm record comes in its original cover, and it appears that the original artist of the cover drew onto the matting that the album is surrounded by. Included is a gold plaque with a train and “Bob Dylan” engraved into it as well as a letter of authenticity from Bauman Rare Books. The cover was signed when it was released in 1979, and measures approximately 21 ½ in (w) x 32 in (l).
