A rare 1st issue of this his DEBUT ALBUM,
though not the short-lived 'interim' Philips pressing (I don't believe, though I am not an expert on this)
As can be seen, the cover bears the LARGE boxed "STEREO" logo above the CBS box, there's 'Bob Dylan' left of centre on the CBS boxed lable, and '33' below left. Later lables centre his name over the box and '33 1/3'
The cover has "Garrod and Lofthouse....applied for" on the flip backed rear.
A couple of 'TALKIN' song titles which are mentioned on the cover text - yet do NOT exist in the tracklist (See photos).
PLAYING is WONDERFUL - BRILLIANT ATMOSPHERIC STEREO in vivid separation.
Lovely through headphones, I wish all records were with such clarity.
Record is housed in a front laminated flip-back cover, in really nice shape!
CONDITION;
EX to NM- Vinyl, Plays wonderfully, 'heavy' first pressed vinyl disc, solid thick British quality pressing! Just a couple of very superficial and light marks visible under closest inspection, it's a remarkable nicely kept album and definitely a 'keeper' that would be hard to better!
Bright orange CBS lables - which are clean with no stickers or pen, and clearly well preserved all this time. The rougher 'matt' is to the middle area (the lables weren't always ingrained with feelable terrain actually).
The Laminated 'Flip-Back' solid card sleeve is in lovely EX/VG++ Condition, a solid spine, some lightest signs of aging to the rear, but not drastic (see photos, zoom in closely).
The inner is a modern replacement, so the polythene lined one is long gone. Easily replaceable though I don't advise keeping the vinyl in those particularly.
This is definitely a KEEPER copy, it's in solid condition all round.
A really great American Folk record and nowadays is well known and sought after as an original like this in such shape, especially. Of course, it's a particularly historic landmark archive issue in the storied career of this legendary 'poet laureate'.
