BOB DYLAN - SOPLANDO EN EL VIENTO (Blowin' In The Wind) b/w POSITIVAMENTE EN LA CUARTA CALLE (Positively 4th Street) / CBS - SONDOR 21.520 /

Rare Uruguayan promotional 7" that comes housed inside a special radio station customized paper sleeve. It looks like CBS/Sondor used to send these personalized variations to some radio stations. In this case, the name of radio station "CX8-Radio Sarandí, Montevideo" can be read on paper sleeve bottom portion and there's a kind of form on top portion intended to be filled in with information on the specific title, including artist, style, tracks length and the name of the dj and the radio show it was addressed to, in this case the radio show was named "Constelación" and dj's name was Carlos Martins, a well known local 60's dj. In addition, this peculiar edition features a Bob Dylan's caricature printed on the sleeve.....Obviously, it was precisely at this old radio station's vault the place where I found this weird artifact, is the first time I see it after many years on the records' hunt. The commercial release of this single came housed in a picture sleeve that was imported from Argentina, that was a usual practice at the times, so I can only think that the record label probably decided not to use the expensive imported sleeves for promotion and used these cheaper customized sleeves instead, or it was that they just ran out on them, but I couldn't say for sure..... Labels show a CBS / Sondor strip and promotional ink stamps just like the one on the sleeve itself, check the pictures. There's also a sticker with date on sleeve's back that reads 1968. Sleeve shows some wear, has no tears or missing parts, a miracle it has survived, I found it in a box where everything appeared pretty worn, it looks really well considering it's poor storage condition. Disc is G, surface shows many hairlines & scratches that are mostly superficial, there's nothing really deep, it plays strong with some background surface noise & crackle, still playable, no skips, I guess it got heavy airplay and wasn't handled carefully indeed. I guess this one could be a good addition to any Bob Dylan's collection.
