BOA “Wrong Road” ULTRA RARE ORIGINAL Garage Psych Listen!

1971//USA/ Snakefield SN 1…..here’s an original pressing of this ultra rare lp. The cover has some storage soiling/dirty, corner wear and some paper loss, top seam is taped, a handful of light stains on the back and a stain to center on the front, writing on back cover, there is some minor light rippling on the back cover where the light stains are, otherwise the bottom seam and spine are solid and the cover looks fine. The vinyl looks glossy and clean and in Excellent condition with a handful of very soft hairline sleeve scuffs, I’d probably grade the vinyl VG+ due to the poor pressing quality. It does play with light noise and the sound clip is recorded directly from the record being offered here for sale, no alteration to the recording has beeen made. I’ve only ever heard a couple of other clean copies and they were noisy as well so here’s a great chance at a decent copy of this ultra rare lp! Bid now or cry later! This cool early hardrock item has every bit as much garage attitude as the best '66 LPs. An enjoyable energizer with wild stories about murder and infidelity in a raunchy basement guitar/organ setting. Crappy press and one of the least professional band photos ever on the sleeve.

The roots of Boa can be found in Auburn Heights, Michigan in 1969 when high school student Ted Burris (bass, vocals, organ) enlisted fellow student Bob Maledon (piano, bass, organ, vocals), who he had seen jamming at a mutual friend's house. They met at Maledon's garage to play, where Paul Manning (guitar, vocals) heard the racket the twosome were making and had to be involved. The three continued jamming until deciding it was time to add other member. Brian Walton was recruited to play keyboards, and, after trying out numerous drummers, Richard Allen filled the drum seat. They called themselves Anvil and performed cover songs as well as a few band originals. In 1970 Anvil recorded an album at a Detroit studio that was never released, although a few acetates were made, before breaking up due to changing musical tastes. The members, however, got back together in 1971 and decided to give recording another shot. Instead of dusting off the Anvil moniker, the band chose to rename itself Boa. They recorded Wrong Road live on a two-track in a warehouse in Auburn Heights, and the album was privately pressed and released in March of 1971 with Manning taking the pseudonym Captain Hook since he was playing with another band at the time. Almost immediately after, the band broke up again and went their separate ways.

GRADING

MINT: I consider New Unplayed or Sealed items only.

M- or Mint Minus, very clean with clean visual appearance and sound, there may be a couple of light inaudible hairline scuffs or such and will be mentioned in the listing, a Mint- record looks and plays very clean. Same for the cover. Very clean with no delete or other issues.

EXCELLENT: still very collectable for most, visually and sonicly clean. A handful of light inaudible scuffs, or hairlines. Cover will be clean with little wear, or delete. No splits.

VG++ still a very nice copy with minimal wear, the vinyl will retain it's original gloss and can have some minor scuffs/scratches that don't affect play very much. Cover will have slight shelf wear, and or delete, minor split.

VG+ the vinyl will still retain much original gloss with a bit more scuffs and/or scratches I may list a very rare or desirable item with a lower grade, I will try to list all defects.
