Description
Note: The following is an excerpt from ‘A Bluenote Labelography’:
“… I have also acquired a copy of number 1501, Miles Davis, Volume 1 that is something of an oddity, having a Lexington Avenue address on side 1 and a West 63rd Street address on side 2. Both sides are RVG engraved. Although the latter label indicates that the record was pressed around 1959, it still indicative that early 1500 original pressings were also Van Gelders.”
See label notes below.
COMMENTS: From Jacket: “…then the solos of Miles Davis more likely reflect the complexity of the neurotic world in which we live.” Leonard Feather
With: Horace Silver, Jay Jay Johnson, Percy Heath, and Art Blakey
Tracks: Take Off, Weirdo, Would’n You, I Waited For You, Ray’s Idea, Donna, Well You Needn’t, The Leap, Lazy Susan, Tempus Fugit, It Never Entered My Mind
From Private Collection (over 1500 records from late 1940’s on) of Original Owner
Record: VG+ (heavy vinyl, flat edge , deep groove, “ear” and RVG in dead wax).
