Great psych rock album from Eastern Europe - Czechoslovakia 1970 - Blue Effect's "Meditace" LP on the Supraphon label - RARE original pressing!  English/Czech vocals and a strong blues psych guitar-led vibe (Hendrix and Led Zeppelin must've been the only bands these Eastern European countries smuggled in!) - sometimes there's some wildly inventive and EXCELLENT guitar psych coming from places you wouldn't expect, and even though they may be imitating Western and British sounds, they often take chances and get even wilder than their mentors.  "Blues About Stone" captures a real nice slow blues groove a la Led Zep's "Babe I'm Gonna Leave You" or the Guess Who's "Humpty Blues", with vocals that are UNCANNILY similar to Robert Plant's, and at 8-plus minutes, this really DOES sound like a Led Zep outtake from the first or second albums.  "Rainy Day" is a SUPERB chunky funky Hendrix-inspired psych rock track with cool descending acid guitar riff.  Really captures that California heavy biker guitar outlaw psych rock vibe a la Steppenwolf or even the heavier, trippier parts of Spirit's "12 Dreams of Dr. Sardonicus" LP.  "Stroj Na Nic", obviously one of the NON-English tracks, is actually one of the strongest songs on here - an absolutely INCREDIBLE track that MUST BE HEARD!  Cool swingin' acid dance psych with swirly echoplex guitar, spiraling horns, wild Hendrix guitar solos that soar all over the place, thrashing and pounding Godzilla drums, and trippy spoken word parts too!  The best way to describe it is simply to say it's AMAZING and unlike anything you've heard before - but were always WISHING you'd hear - and THIS in a nutshell is why these obscure Eastern European albums have the ability to mix and match various influences into things you'd never hear anywhere else!  And there are some KILLER gems on these albums!  Another great one - hard to find and priceless for the psych fan looking for new and unique sounds.  Original 1970 pressing on the blue-silver Czech Supraphon label.
