Description

This is honestly a perfect 1973 album and it suits that classic rock niche so well that it's hard to know why the band never really made it. This is the one and only pressing (not counting promo DJ copies) in 1973 and the second pressing was in 2008, long after they'd broken up.


It's one of those critic's favorites like the Raspberries and Big Star, except these guys' time never did come. It's no less a great fun album, surrounding 70's guitars with harmonies that are just rough enough that the beautiful production is never too commercial a sound, and they can even cover Dylan without being annoying. 

I think it was a combination of Mercury's sales department (see a great song by Graham Parker called "Mercury Poisoning" for that story) and this muddy cover photo with the worst blazers I've ever seen on any group photo ever.
