HERE WE HAVE A SUPERB, UK CHRYSALIS (ILPS 9123) FIRST PRESSING (April 1970) OF BLODWYN PIG'S SENSATIONAL SECOND LP ,"Getting To This"

BLODWYN PIG WERE FORMED BY JETHRO TULL'S MICK ABRAHAMS AFTER LEAVING THE BAND IN 1968 SHORTLY AFTER THE RECORDING OF 'THIS WAS' - REPUTEDLY BECAUSE OF DIFFERENCES WITH IAN ANDERSON ON THE DIRECTION TULL WERE TAKING WITH ABRAHAMS WANTING TO STICK TO THE BANDS ORIGINAL BLUES ROOTS BUT ANDERSON WANTING TO TAKE THE BAND IN A MORE PROGRESSIVE DIRECTION
BUT FOR WHATEVER REASONS ABRAHAMS LEFT JETHRO TULL, BLODWYN PIG WERE A SENSATIONAL OUTFIT AND THIS IS, IN MY OPINION, THEIR FINEST RECORD

PRESSED ON QUALITY HEAVYWEIGHT VINYL WITH DEEP CUT GROOVES WHICH DELIVER A SENSATIONAL LOUD CUT - CRYSTAL CLEAR, RICH AND STRONG
THE LP HAS THE FIRST ISSUE GREEN CHRYSALIS LABELS WHICH CARRY THE ISLAND WHITE i ISLAND LOGO AND THE ISLAND RIM TEXT: "Marketed and distributed by Island Records Basing St London"
WITH THE VERY FIRST ISSUE CORRECTED MATRIX: ILPS 912(3)2 A∇1 1 1 6 / ILPS 912(3)2 B∇1 1 3 2 (the '3' in brackets has been crossed out and the correct '2' etched)
AND IS HOUSED IN THE ORIGINAL MATTE GATEFOLD SLEEVE (no printers credits)

LABELS: The labels are CLEAN and BRIGHT with NO unwanted marks/writing and NO evident spindle traces
VINYL Visual: The vinyl still retains its DEEP, GLOSSY SHEEN. There are some light sleeve removal hairlines but these have NO audio consequence. EXCELLENT
VINYL Audio: TREMENDOUS, CRYSTAL CLEAR, VERY SHARP and VERY STRONG audio reproduction. SENSATIONAL DELIVERY THROUGHOUT. There are NO jumps, NO sticks, NO scratches and NO clicks or pops. SOUNDS ABSOLUTELY SUPERB. Plays to an extremely high standard with GREAT CLARITY, NO groove-wear and NO distortion and must be graded at least an EXCELLENT+ for audio (practically FLAWLESS playback). NOT over-graded in ANY way as I use strict RECORD COLLECTOR grading standards (please refer to my feedback and 'about me' page)
SLEEVE: The matte gatefold sleeve is in EXCELLENT condition. There is a slight touch of ring to the back with a very small patch of paper loss - top corner (see photos) and the white portions of the sleeve have some discolouration but the whole sleeve is GOOD and SOLID with minimal edge storage wear and a nice CLEAN, CLEAR spine with fully legible text. Neither the join-the-dots or the maze puzzles on the inside of the gatefold have been completed. Excellent example of this easily worn, untreated sleeve
