Not a whole deal has changed between the two albums, but there still are a few noticebale differences. It appears that Abrahams likes to rock it a bit more, instead of treading a slow bluesy path which is quite welcomed by me. The better of these tracks are "See My Way" and "Send Your Son to Die" that combine the elements of Lancaster's high-flying jazz and Abrahams passionate soloing outstandingly well with their riveting rhythm section. I find the others less interesting("The Squirelling Must Go On", "Worry"). Perhaps Blodwyn Pig always had more blues/rock in their bloodstream, and were more able in that aspect, but my personal tastes are a bit different.

And this brings us to the second small difference. They've started to become slightly more adventurous here and some tracks are starting to stand out more than usual. The best tracks on this probably are the Jethro Tull-ish "Variations on Nainos" where Lancaster pulls out some exiting psychedelic flute play that rivals Ian Anderson's better days with his band and the ambitious "San Francisco Sketches", which is starting to sound closer to progressive bands of the era. It's groovy jazz sensibility, strong interplays and sudden breaks makes this one my favorite track these guys churned out. "Toys" is an acoustic one that has slowly grown on me, but "To Rass Man" is a very ugly throwa-away of reggae that somehow got lost on this otherwise solid album.

Again a pretty entertaning album by these people. It's hard for me to say which album I prefer. Both of them have their ups and downs, but I think they are quite similar in their final output, though I like the one here a fraction more, since it's closer to new musical waters than the previous one.

(EXCERPT FROM AN ANONYMOUS ONLINE REVIEW)

THE WHITE LABEL PROMO, RADIO STATION-, AUDITION OR DEMONSTRATION COPIES AND RELEASES (such as the one we have here) were often distributed to the radio stations before the record was released to the public, sometimes as much as four months ahead. These records are generally considered to be the "first among equals": the VERY FIRST generation and the VERY FIRST pressings of the particular title; a PROTOTYPE and the earliest known official pressing of the record.

·       CONDITION:

·       THE RECORD

(IMPORTANT NOTE: unless otherwise noted, ALL records are graded visually, and NOT play-graded!; we  grade records under the strong, diffuse room light or discrete sunlight)

(a)          WE GRADE THE VINYL  AS  (WEAK) NEAR MINT. Some VERY LIGHT AND SUPERFICIAL abrasions – mostly sleeve scuffs -  are (barely) visible, but are probably inaudible,  and do not affect visual integrity or beauty of the vinyl. The original luster is very much intact, and the vinyl shines and sparkles almost like new.

(b)            The record is pressed on a beautiful, thick, inflexible vinyl, which was usually used for the first or very early pressings. Usually, the sound on such thick vinyl pressings is full-bodied, vivid, and even dramatic. Do not expect to obtain such a majestic analog sound from a digital recording!

(c)             The record comes in the original stock inner sleeve.

(d)            White Promo Label version of this title is much rarer that a regular, commercially released, version of this title. We estimate that stock copies of this album outnumber promo copies by a ratio of at least 30:1.

(e)           Of course, this is a full-bodied ANALOG recording, and not an inferior, digital recording!!!

·                               THE COVER

THE COVER IS NICE --- ABOUT EXCELLENT OR VERY GOOD++ (VG++).

The following flaws or imperfections are noted on the cover:

-         Cover shows JUST A HINT of yellowing on both sides, apparently from aging.

-         Cover has two corners slightly dinged (nothing significant)

-         Cover has JUST A HINT of ring wear (nothing significant); On the scale from 1 to 10 (1 being the least, and  10 being the most severe), we assess the severity of ring wear as 1 (front side) and 2 (back side)

-         Cover has a few tiny wrinkles along the top seam

-         Cover has a tiny "wrinkle" (crease)  in one of the corners.

NO OTHER VISIBLE FLAWS OR IMPERFECTIONS ON THE  COVER
