BLIND GARY DAVIS LP HARLEM STREET SINGER (Prestige/Bluesville Records BVLP 1015) Released 1957.
Original silver & blue Deep Groove Prestige/Bluesville label. "RVG" is stamped in the dead wax to signify that this was mastered by the most estimable Rudolph Van Gelder of West Bergenfield, New Jersey. Beautiful laminated cover! Original mono microgroove pressing. Our copy came from the original owner, who took very good care of these albums. We will be listing more great blues rarities from this collection shortly. US mono pressing with 117 W. 46th St. address on label. This copy has great visual appeal. *Beautiful cover photo* by Esmond Edwards. Produced by Kenneth Goldsten. Liner notes by Larry Cohn. Very fine reflective sheen on the grooves inside a nicely-preserved cover. Pressed on a thick slab of wax with sturdy, high-quality cover. (Etched matrix: "BVLP-1015 A/B").
COVER - VERY GOOD PLUS PLUS
Cover has no seam splits, stains, tape, ink spills, bubbles or stickers. No ring wear. Flat cover with no bends, creases, waves, ripples or bowing. Spine print is fully readable. Small amount of corner banging. No speckling. Label looks quite nice: free of stains, marks, scuffs, cuts & writing. Sharp-cut hole with some faint transparent spindle brushings.
DISC - VERY GOOD PLUS PLUS
No scratches, flecks, skips, streaking, warping or residue on the disc or dead wax. The disc still exudes a nice surface sheen. Free of chips, cracks & warping. This thick platter holds its sound better than a cheaper modern pressing.
