Description

BLACKFEATHER “Live Sunbury” LP RARE Aussie prog blues

Blackfeather – Live! Sunbury LP (orig. Australia Infinity STEREO L-25095)

Release date: 1974.  Recording dates: 27-29 January 1973.

On offer here is an EXTREMELY RARE original issue of the third album by Sydney-based rock band, BLACKFEATHER.  Despite the 1974 release date, these LIVE recordings were actually made during the 1973 SUNBURY ROCK FESTIVAL, which was held in late January 1973.  The raunchy lead vocals of Neale Johns and the dual guitar work of Lindsay Wells (ex-HEALING FORCE / KING HARVEST) & Tim Piper (ex-CHAIN) contribute to a mightily impressive set.  Obviously, this LP didn’t sell well as I have only seen two copies in the last 25 years!

Record:

VG++ visual: clean overall, some light surface scuffs only (side 1 – EX, side 2 – VG++); audible: SUPERB PUNCHY and VIBRANT ‘LIVE’ SOUND despite some underlying surface noise/crackle, couple of pops during “Slippin’ and Slidin’”; labels: HARDLY ANY SPINDLE WEAR, small sticker tear on label (side 1) (also see label image).
