BLACK UNITY TRIO Orig. PRIVATE Lp on SALAAM RARE!!!
DEFINITE Vintage pressing of this item, NOT a current reissue. ALL of my auctions are US pressings unless otherwise noted.

Original pressing on the SALAAM label from what appears to be the late 60's or early 70's, entitled AL - FATIHAH. Avant-garde jazz, by this Cleveland, Ohio group. Very much in the Black empowerment / Muslim head space of the time. The group consists of a Tenor Sax player, Bass player and Drummer. Some delicate moments, and some very aggresive moments. The tracks are BIRTH LIFE AND DEATH, IN LIGHT OF BLACKNESS, OPENING PRAYER, JOHN'S VISION, AL NISA and FINAL EXPRESSION. 6 tracks in all.
Condition on this item is unfortunately not very good. The cover has seen water damage, as has the label. The record was played alot, and has many, many marks. It does play without any skips that I heard, but does have noise all throughout. I would not have listed this record if it were most others, but due to its collectability and Rareness, i felt that someone might just want to hear it regardless. Do not buy this record expecting a beautiful copy, buy it to listen to it.
