AN OUTSTANDING COPY IN EVERY RESPECT AND MASSIVELY RARE AS THE UK 'SPACESHIP' PRESSING AND IN SUCH BEAUTIFUL CONDITION PRETTY HARD TO BEAT

RECORD COLLECTOR MAGAZINE, DECEMBER 2008:
“The ‘spaceship’ edition of Black Sabbath Vol 4 has certainty been the subject of much speculation. After all, there was a typing mistake in the RRPG 2008 that made it appear that the more common ‘swirl’ was the rare example - which was incorrect.
When Vertigo discontinued the ‘swirl’ label they began to repress albums – including all four Sabbath albums – on the ‘spaceship’ label. However, as Sabbath had set up their own WWA label, this was discontinued, as the album was subsequently pressed on their WWA label. Though there are ‘spaceship’ labels for all four Sabbaths, there are less copies of this version of Vol 4 in circulation. Some sources have said as few as 100 are out there, but there are probably more than this. As far as we can establish, Vol 4 was never repressed again on the ‘spaceship’ label”

LABELS: The labels (w/'Made in England' text) are CLEAN, BRIGHT and UNMARKED with just a couple of (the lightest) spindle traces
VINYL Visual: The vinyl has its original DEEP, LIKE-NEW, GLOSSY SHEEN and is practically UNMARKED (there are one or two tiny little marks hardly worth a mention which have absolutely NO audio consequence). There is however a slight edge warp which does need a mention. It is clearly apparent when the record rotates but it in no way affected the playback on my system (Ortofon cartridge, tracking 1.75g). Of course, the LP is fully guaranteed so if this does cause you a problem (which I seriously doubt) a return/full refund including return post costs will be no problem. This slight warp is the only minor downside to this STUNNING copy but as it was no issue AT ALL with me I don't think it will be an issue on any other system either
VINYL Audio: The audio is OUTSTANDING - CRYSTAL CLEAR, DEEP, RICH, VIBRANT SOUND. When play-graded at a LOUD volume there are NO scratches, NO sticks, NO jumps and NO surface noise - not even on the quiet "Changes", the experimental "FX' and the acoustic 'Laguna Sunrise'. The album plays BEAUTIFULLY THROUGHOUT to the highest possible standard with SUPERB CLARITY, NO distortion and NO groove-wear and is graded MINT(-) as it has been played, albeit just a couple of times - SOUNDS absolutely SENSATIONAL - by far the best copy I have ever seen
SLEEVE: The matte gatefold cover is also in STUNNING condition with the internal four page booklet firmly attached. The outer surfaces are CLEAN and FACTORY-FRESH with no signs AT ALL of any rubbing and the inside is similarly PRISTINE. All the edges are CRISP and SHARP and the spine is PERFECT with all text CLEAR and BOLD. Easily deserves a MINT(-) grading - very hard to find in such beautiful condition as this sleeve is so easily rubbed
The Swirl inner bag is is LIKE-NEW with NO splits or marks
