Description

BLACK SABBATH - PARANOID

A truly excellent copy of this classic rock gem - Black Sabbath at their very best

Year/Label : 1970 UK VERTIGO Label number : 6360011 Matrix numbers :  6360011 1Y//2 420, 6360011 2Y//1 420 Stampers :  12 1  /  12 20
Excellent (EX) condition vinyl - completely flat and retaining a wonderful jet black lacquered sheen. With very close inspection under a bright light it is just possible to detect a couple of small and extremely faint surface marks and paper scuffs on each side but you will need to look very closely to detect them...negligible, strictly surface only, purely superficial, and not impacting upon the brilliant sound quality one bit. The labels are near perfect with the only blemish being a few very small and extremely faint spindle trails adjacent to the centre hole on each label - again, barely noticeable. Clearly, this is a record that has been only sparingly played  Very good plus (VG+) condition unlaminated outer gatefold sleeve with firm edges where there is some light intermittent scuffing on the bottom edges (continuous scuffing 2-3cm next to the corners) and just a couple of tiny nicks on the top edges. The spine remains rigid with a few small areas of light scuffing and the occasional odd nick but with all spine text perfectly legible. The corners remain near perfectly defined right angles with some mild rubbing on each and the opening edges are firm with no fraying and all art work, colours, and text remain crisp, vibrant, and with perfect definition. There is a very mild 6cm surface crease on the front side towards the middle of the opening edge (you will need to tilt the gatefold to the right angle in a good light to notice it) and a tiny nick, again on the front side, 3cm in from the middle of the spine. The interior of the gatefold is near perfect with no obvious blemishes at all and apart from a couple of small and very light handling/storage marks the reverse side is excellent. Do take a good look at my photos - each of these blemishes is minor and the gatefold outer undoubtedly remains eminently presentable (and 100% fully functional!).  Superb excellent plus (EX+) stereo sound quality with no sticks, skips, repeats, clicks or distortion and any background crackle is at an absolute minimum - negligible. Wonderful tone and crystal clear reproduction throughout. Every track is timeless and remains a great listen - Sabbath at their very, very best - wonderful!   Comes with original Vertigo swirl poly-lined inner sleeve with no side splits, no edge fraying, no tears, barely any creasing, and just some mild age discolouration on both sides next to the top edge - brilliant! Note that I always ship the vinyl in a new plain white inner sleeve in order to protect the original.    A truly excellent condition copy of this UK 1st press 1970 Black Sabbath gem - an essential addition to any serious rock vinyl collection!
