PLEASE NOTE: I WILL ONLY GRADE AN OPENED LP NEAR MINT (NM) IF I CAN GUARANTEE IT HAS NEVER BEEN PLAYED (i.e. I AM THE ORIGINAL OWNER). OTHERWISE, NEAR MINT MINUS (NM-) IS THE ABSOLUTE HIGHEST GRADE I WILL ASSIGN AN OPENED LP.
WILDLY RARE Specialty pressing from 198? on Warner Brothers' ghost shield label with the Winchester rifle etched in the dead wax on both sides (meaning the metalwork was done there) and NO barcode!!! Release year is unclear as there isn't a single entry for this pressing anywhere in the massive, sprawling Discogs database whatsoever. I have had well over 60 copies of this LP pass through my hands in my 45 years of collecting and selling and I have never seen this ghost shield hybrid before. THAT'S how you know it's rare. LP side 1 is VG+ with a few light scuffs and side B is VG++ with even fewer light scuffs. Cover is VG/VG+ with a few small peel spots on the front only. Sabbath's first four LPs undoubtedly serve as the foundation upon which metal was built but for a certain strain of more hardcore metal fans (myself included) this is Sabbath's best LP. The seeds of thrash were planted right here, with Hole In The Sky and, particularly, Symptom Of The Universe both obvious touchstones. Don't get me wrong. I couldn't live without Sab's debut or their three follow-ups but for dead serious metal heads it doesn't get better than this one. Every fan of metal NEEDS this LP. Absolutely essential listening. Superbly mastered, this pressing sounds incredible with stunning clarity. You will not be disappointed.
I USE GOLDMINE GRADING~ MINT (SEALED) NEAR MINT: LOOKS UNPLAYED VG++: VERY VERY MINIMAL SIGNS OF USE VG+: AVERAGE SIGNS OF USE, NOTHING DEEP, SUPERFICIAL VG: STILL AN OK RECORD, NOISE BETWEEN SONGS
GOOD: WORN BUT PLAYS FINE WITH DISTRACTING NOISE POOR: FILLER COPY ONLY. LOTS OF SCRATCHES
