Description
Up for grabs I have a very nice copy of Sabbath's Master Of Reality,arguably their best album and certainly my favourite! This is an original Vertigo Swirl UK 1st press (sadly without the poster). However this is such a fine example. Catalogue number is Vertigo 6360 050. The orignal fliptop box cover although typically flattened (great idea,not so in practise) is still in very nice shape indeed. Yes there's the usual laminate lifting in places,however no tearing and in my opinion pretty much about as good as it gets,especially as it's over 40 years old now. The vinyl is in fantastic condition and plays through smoothly and with minimal surface interference. A really fine example with just a couple of light marks that don't interfere with play. Lovely high end,heavy duty quality vinyl in those days. Comes with a nice Vertigo swirl inner though I can't say this is original as it's predominantly white. I'm sure the inners for this release were mainly black??? Correct me if I'm wrong. So to sum up the grading I can say it's comfortably VG+ for the box cover and a EX+ for the vinyl. RECORD COLLECTOR GRADING SYSTEM
MINT :The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed be Mint.
EXCELLENT :The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VERY GOOD :The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
I may use a + or a - to emphasise a grading which may be inbetween a grade. I will never use a mint grading for a 2nd hand/used record for instance. Mint- will be the very highest grade.
