Description
Black Sabbath – Master of Reality 1st pressing vinyl album in embossed box sleeve with six pane fold-out colour poster. VERTIGO large swirl label. SUPERB!
As well as being a 1st pressing, this is the VERY FIRST VARIATION out of ten variations of the first pressing – see run-out matrix numbers below.
SLEEVE: EX/EX+. Original fully laminated and embossed 'box type' cover opening both from the top and bottom. No scuffs or marks. Corners and edges are great. Just the odd VERY light crease (2mm x 1cm-ish) towards the edges of the cover where the lamination has naturally creased or slightly pulled away from the cover with age (see photo), but no breaks or tears in the lamination at all. If it weren’t for these very slight imperfections this would be M-.
VINYL: EX+/M-. In beautiful near mint condition. Has been stored and unplayed for decades. No marks or blemishes (other than one VERY VERY faint surface line from removing album from sleeve, but you really have to look at it hard under a bright light to see it – see last photo). Still retains its original sheen. Perfectly flat. Test play revealed no skips, sticks or clicks. Deep full clean sound. Clearly been played only a handful of times. Sound quality throughout is free from any traces of distortion.

There were ten variations of the first pressing, and these matrix numbers are found only on the very first copies produced. Extremely rare, especially in this condition!
LABELS: M-/M: Perfectly clean with no writing or stickers.
INNER SLEEVE: M-. Original Vertigo poly-lined inner sleeve. No yellowing or brown spotting. Absolutely lovely.
POSTER: M-. 18" x 27" (46 cm x 68,5 cm). Looks like it has never been used and only ever been unfolded once or twice. No yellowing or brown spotting. Absolutely lovely.
Great album, one of the first copies of it ever produced, really hard to find in such fantastic condition, and extremely collectable!
