OK so here we have one of the most rare and collectable Black Sabbath singles ever. (See my other listings for the most rare DJ005 DJ promo maxi 45 Phonogram Sabbath/Status Quo 7")
VERTIGO white label sample record 7" CHILDREN OF THE GRAVE/SOLITUDE
This is the real deal, not some dodgy bootleg copy.
MATRIX Nos:
A: BS001 1F //1^420 11 1 04 (where ^ is a triangle on the vinyl) B: BS001 2F//1^420 11 1 04 (where ^ is a triangle on the vinyl)
BOTH A & B SIDES FEATURE A SMALL STICKER WITH THE WORDING "SAMPLE RECORD NOT FOR SALE"
The A side has handwritten description, B side is plain white except for the label. I don't know whether the handwritten wording is by someone from the record company or if it was written later.
This comes from the collection of a family member and has been owned by them since new, it has been played very little over the years. I have just played it today on my Pioneer PL12D turntable through a Yamaha CA610 amp and it sounds great with only some slight background crackling now and again. It does not jump, skip or get stuck anywhere on either side.
In terms of condition, I would class it as excellent - the A side just has a small number of short light scratches across the groove towards the inner edge, I have pictured these as best as I could. They do not cause the stylus to jump or skip in any way and I could not hear them when played. The B side is even better - no marks or scratches at all as far as i can make out. Both sides still have a fantastic shine to them in keeping with the few times this has ever been played.
It comes in a plain white sleeve which is discoloured and worn, I would assume this is the original sleeve.
It can be shipped worldwide and will be carefully wrapped and will be full insured and tracked etc.
In the coming weeks I will be listing further rarities from Black Sabbath as well as Pink Floyd, The Who and others so keep checking my other items. My price may seem high to some people but I'm in no hurry to sell, but if you really want this make an offer and see...you may be lucky.
