BLACK POWER – VOL. 1 Lp by BLACK POWER. ORIGINAL PORTUGUESE PRESSING on VOZ DE CABO VERDE (VCV 001-101) from the 1970´s. VERY RARE AFRO FUNK and SOUL LP issued in Portugal by this OBSCURE BAND FROM CAPE VERDE. KILLER RAW and STREETWISE AFROBEAT SOUND, featuring PSYCHED ELECTRIC ORGAN, GUITAR, BASS, DRUMS and MALE VOCALIST with STRONG US SOUL AND FUNK INFLUENCES. Includes two GREAT COVER VERSIONS of JAMES BROWN´s songs: “WOMAN” and “MAN´S, MAN´S, MAN´S WORLD”, both done in a BEAUTIFUL, SOULFUL WAY. Also check out the FRENETIC and WIERD AFRO FUNK with NICE PERCUSSION BREAK in “NÔ CRÊ LIBERDADE”, the DOWNTEMPO DRAMA GROOVE of “ORAÇÃO DO AMOR PERDIDO”, the SPACED-OUT WESTERN SPAGHETTI GARAGE ROCK SOUND of “VETE YA” and the ballad “IF YOU NEED ME”, a song made famous by WILSON PICKETT. LOTS of POTENCIAL LOOPS AND SAMPLES for the PRODUCERS and great stuff to groove to. Check the long soundclip below (NOTE: the soundclip was made from the copy being auctioned). VERY RARE LP.
Vinyl is in strong VG+ condition (superficial marks and hairlines. I played this record in its entirety and it played great, only with light surface noises here and there. Check sounclip). Sleeve is in VG+ condition (minor creasing and wear, one small sticker on front cover and traces of a sticker which was removed from the back cover. Check picture).
