BLACK LIGHT PANTHERS 12" LP Long OUT OF PRINT Record by some of DC's earliest punk pioneers
BLACK LIGHT PANTHERS was an on again/off again musical project by Guy Picciotto and Brendan Canty of the legendary FUGAZI. It began in 1982 only a year after the duo met. Side A of this record documents some bedroom recordings they did together in 1982 during the heyday of HarDCore. Side B includes a cut the two wrote in 1997 during Fugazi demo sessions for their classic album End Hits. The 1982 material is ultra lo-fi (it was recorded on boomboxes) while the 1997 material is much more recognizable as Fugazi stylistically. There were only 1000 copies of this pressed on Guy's own Peterbilt label. The record is packaged in a manilla envelope with a gold foil panther sketch sticker. Includes an 8.5"X11" heavy cardstock 2-sided insert that includes song titles, recording info and lineup. Everything is in pristine condition.
Definitely an essential, LONG OUT OF PRINT record for any fan of the amazing DC punk community. It will be packed with care as I run my own record label. Thanks for looking. Good luck.
