BLACK AXE – 7” UK '80 “Highway Rider” - rare solid centre version! NWOBHM / Heavy Metal
This is an ORIGINAL 7” single by NWOBHM act BLACK AXE, released in 1980 on Melt records featuring the songs “Highway Rider” and “Red Lights”. This single has 2 versions, the more common 'push out centre' that as far as I know never came in a picture sleeve, and the rare, solid centre in an ORIGINAL picture sleeve. This is the band that later changed their name to WOLF that released the “Edge The World” LP in 1984.
This single is up there with the best from the NWOBHM era, “Red Lights” is a scorcher!
Condition of the item:
record plays: Very Good +, plays very good and smooth all the way through both sides.
Optical: Very Good +, a few, small and very faint surface hairlines, on the A-side, overall smooth and clean on both sides. vinyl has some excess vinyl on the outer edge (see picture)
Sleeve: Front and back have some light dented ring-wear, NO whitened ringwear, but a little whitened wear in the centre where the centre hole of the single sits behind the sleeve.
Sleeve has a few cm opening right on the folding spine on the bottom likely caused by the vinyl record.
A little white mark on the top left of the sleeve where the yellow and black ink has come away, similar to sticker marking.
Postage: UK only. All items will be sent via 1st class Royal Mail. I will combine postage with multiple items.
Packaging: I post 7” singles out in card or cardboard mailer with added cardboard stiffener.
Grading: My record / tape gradings do not relate to those used in other sources, it is my own findings. I try to include as much detail as possible in describing the item, both optical and by ear.
Other: All records are cleaned with record cleaner and microfibre cloth, and played all the way through for grading.
