Description
UP FOR BID IS A VERY RARE LP BY BLACK ACE AKA B.K. TURNER.
Turner, a significant part of the American blues tradition since the 1930's.
ARHOOLIE F 1003 Recorded in 1960 by Chris Strachwitz in Ft. Worth Texas.
Side one: I AM THE BLACK ACE, BAD TIMES STOMP, DRINK ON LITTLE GIRL, SANTA FE BLUES, NEW TRIFLIN' WOMAN, FARTHER ALONG, EVIL WOMAN.
Side two: 'FORE DAY CREEP, LITTLE AUGIE, YOUR LEG'S TOO LITTLE, NO GOOD WOMAN, SANTA CLAUS BLUES, GOLDEN SLIPPER.
Cover has moderate ring wear on front near the top. Left top corner has small crease. No seam splits, but lower right corner frayed a little. Back cover features extensive liner notes telling the Black ace story.
Cover conservatively grades at VG.
LP labels are very sharp and vibrant each side does have a few light spindle marks. Playing surface has slight sleeve scuffs, playback not affected.
LP grades at VG+.
