ORIGINAL UK NEVIS NEV R005 LP

NICE EXCELLENT VINYL, LOOKS BARELY USED. LAMINATED COVER EXCELLENT.

Bitter Withy began in the late '60s and were active for about six years until forced off the road by economics. We came back now and again over the years for various one-off projects; radio, charity gigs and nostalgia trips.
The group always consisted of Female Singer Lesley Hale (still active and writing at Nitten FC), Andy Ramage Singer Guitarist (still very active on the tourist trail, loads of CDs available) and me Tich Frier Singer Guitarist (still active and one step ahead of the grim reaper for the last couple of years. www.tichfrier.co.uk). On our one LP we were joined by Tim Bell (Bass) and Carey Wilson Guitar and Mandolin)
Ther was a slight hiccup when Lesley worked as a journalist in SW Scotland and Andy and I went out as a duo then had a very short time as "New Alliance" with Isla St Clair.
Post Bitter Withy The Vindscreen Vipers started in 1974 at Marymass Festival in Irvine and continued to perform off and on 'til Danny left the building. Members were: not all at the same time - Danny Kyle, Mike Whellans, Malky McCormick, Bill Nolan, Tich, Bill Hill, Brian Miller and one offs from Rod Paterson, Frankie Armstrong(that really put the cat among the pigeons), John Watt & Davy Stewart and others I can't remember.
Bitter Withy made one album: Bitter Withy Sampler, Nevis Records and sold virtually zero copies!!
The Vipers can be heard on Danny's solo album "Ah'll Get Ye".
