Nice copy of the original 1949 pressing of Bing Crosby’s Christmas Greetings 3-78 album set on Decca album no. A-715. The second of his famous Christmas records, but much rarer than Merry Christmas. This collections has him coupled with the Andrews Sisters once more for two more songs, plus a few new Bing classics. A beautiful playing copy, too. All three discs are pretty nicely clean and play just beautifully. There are some generally superficial scuffs to be seen but on the whole they don’t affect the play at all. They all play with just a bit of background noise, but not bad at all. Still shiny and quite lovely players. The cover is unfortunately torn at the hinge, so the top/front panel is detached altogether. It could be taped so it would be barely noticeable, but it is as it is for now. The back fold is also tearing a bit but is not coming detached at all. Aside from the torn spine it is in quite lovely shape. The spine itself is still perfectly readable and there is remarkably little wear elsewhere. Not even the usual edfe and corner wear. Really quite clean. All in all a rather lovely set, despite the torn cover. Some nice dark green cloth tape would make it look almost like new. Anyhow it sounds wonderful, and is quite rare!
