A rare 10” (ten inch) Promo record of a 1982 interview with Stuart Coleman, issued in limited quantity to promote a comeback by Billy Fury, who due to ill health had been away from the main music scene for some years. Sadly the comeback did not happen due to his untimely death in early 1983.
In the interview Billy talks about his life, music and wildlife interests as well as his projected comeback, and is combined with five of his songs
Issued in a stickered plain white sleeve, and probably only issued to the music business - DJ's etc. with about 500 pressed.
Record is unmarked and my highest grade of near mint. NO scuffs or nasty marks.
(Sadly Stuart Colman himself passed away on19 April 2018. He was a musician, record producer and broadcaster, playing with Pinkerton’s Assorted Colours in 1966. Meanwhile, as a broadcaster, Colman was also hosting ‘Echoes’ on BBC Radio London, a unique forum with a guest list that included Paul McCartney, Dr. John, Robert Plant and Steve Miller. He was also in demand as a journalist writing a weekly column for the Melody Maker, as well as authoring a best-selling book, “They Kept on Rockin'.” Colman extended his chart successes by creating hits for Kim Wilde, The Jets and Alvin Stardust, and he made albums with his boyhood idols, Phil Everly and Little Richard. Following his love of comedy recordings, Colman was asked by Richard Curtis and Ben Elton to produce the inaugural Comic Relief record, and "Living Doll", featuring TV's The Young Ones along with Cliff Richard, became an international No. 1.)
