Here is the boxed set of 18 LPs (36 sides) of BILL EVANS: THE COMPLETE RIVERSIDE RECORDINGS. This is R-018 on the Riverside Label of Fantasy, Inc. and was issued in 1984 as part of a Limited Edition of 5,000. It consists of a sleeve with two inner cases, 18 LPs in lined paper sleeves and a 32-page insert. The insert contains a complete song list by side, which I have also listed at the bottom of my description. Additionally, it includes a song index, a list of musicians, producers and engineers, a "Homage to Bill Evans" by Martin Williams, a spread of the original album covers 1956-1964 in color, a description of "The Bill Evans Sessions" by Orrin Keepnews (producer) a Discography and a complete Album Identification under the Riverside, Riverside (ABC), Milestone, Prestige, Impulse (ABC) and OJC (Original Jazz Classics) labels.

I've provided 25 photos to give you some sense of what is included in this boxed set and the condition of the set. Please take the time to let the photos load and view them and remember that the complete song list, by side, is also listed below.

As to record condition: I'm not an audiophile and I'm not going to pretend I am and put any rating on the albums. All I know is that they are all exceptionally clean and shiny and look like they have hardly ever been out of the sleeves. I have looked at all pieces on both sides and all I saw was a smudge on Side 3 and a couple of similar small smudges on Side 11. They look like they may be fingerprints or a hand smudge. I did not attempt to clean them, but they look like something that could be cleaned off. I have tried to handle these as little as possible but just enough to check them all out and describe them accurately. I did play parts of two tracks on Side One on my Techniques turntable and all I heard was pure sound.

As to box condition: The outer sleeve has shelf wear on the bottom, some scuffs along the edges, wear on the corners and scuffs on the back. This set is around 9 pounds so just moving it is a bit of a chore and just the weight probably caused some scuffing. The two interior cartons are in very good condition and have the hinges in place. The record sleeves are in very good condition also - I noticed one corner with a slight bend. The booklet resides in the carton with albums 1-9 and it has a little bit of surface scuffing near the spine.
