Description
EXTREMELY RARE, ESPECIALLY WITH PICTURE SLEEVE! BILL BONYUN - This record, titled "Let's Go A-Hunting" comprises four Yankee Tall Tale Ballads: Billy Barlow, The Codfish, We Hunted and We Halloed, 3 Little Pigs. Heirloom HL-501 7" 33 1/3 rpm Extended Play record in picture sleeve. Heirloom Records was a very small record label based in Wiscasset, Maine. Bonyun was a talented folk singer who focused much of his attention on songs of a historical nature. The liner notes on the reverse side were written by Frank Warner of the New York State Folklore Society. His text states, "Bill Bonyun puts me in mind of a latter day Johnny Appleseed as he goes along through life planting interesting, provocative and thrilling ideas in the minds of young people. His good will, his integrity, his humanity shine through his songs and his talk. His understanding of the American story is disarming and winning. He's the kind of man who should be let loose amid the school children of America." Released circa early 1960s. Condition: Record is mint. Cover is VG+. We found this record sealed, but because we wanted to make sure the reverse side flap had not become re-attached we opened it up to make sure the record inside was truly mint and unplayed. No promo or cut-out markings of any kind.
