Big Youth - Screaming Target (Ja. Jaguar, `72)Condition: Cover: M-Disc: M-Super-clean copy, but as is often the case, the Jamaican vinyl is not the best and the first track on each side plays with a little pressing noise, mostly drowned out by the music. Otherwise very nice! Check the sound clip, which plays bits of several tracks.
This is the 1st Jamaican version of this classic LP. Very rare, especially in this condition. I've been told by a reliable source that the first issue is this Jaguar issue, then came the hand-drawn "Gussie" logo, then a few years later the "brick wall" logo "Gussie `76" label. It was, of course, also issued in the UK, many times over, by Trojan. Probably the record that put Big Youth on the map internationally and an early cornerstone for many a reggae fanatic.
I will be auctioning a lot of good rare `60s and `70s reggae and rocksteady over the next few weeks, along with some rarities in other genres as well, so please add me to your saved seller list.
