Description
Original 1974 Ardent release of Radio City by Big Star. This is a promotional copy that was sent out to radio stations. I am the original owner of this album. I had a friend that was in the radio industry in Memphis in the 1970's and he would supply me with promo copies from the station. This album has been played maybe a dozen times. I would receive the albums and record them to cassette then put them back on the shelf. I would play them occasionally when friends would come over. I've retired and it's time to downsize and pass these albums on to people who appreciate them.
I'm going to conservatively call the vinyl a VG+.There is a very light scuff mark on side one. There are a couple of scuff marks on side two and I played the entire side two on my Denon DP51F and it played through perfectly. Had no effect on the audio quality.
I'm going to call the album cover a VG+ as well. Obviously there is a Promo Copy sticker on the front and a permanent marker 6 on the back cover. There is some fading of the colors on the cover. It's over 40 years old, I would call that normal.
The album sleeve has a corner that has been folded back and the sleeve has separated there. I'd say about 3 to 3.5 inches. There is also a small tear in the edge of the sleeve in the middle.
The album label on side two is darker than the label on side one. It was like this when I took it out of the shrink wrap when I got it. At the time it didn't concern me. I don't know if it's meant to be that way because I've never seen another copy of Radio City. Either way, it's there and you can see it in the photo.
I'm not going to say this comes from a smoke free home...but I guarantee it to come from a CIGARETTE smoke free home. Just trying to be honest, it was the 70's...we partied.
