The Big Boys, . . . along with The Dicks, Really Red, and MDC, are credited with the development of hardcore punk in Texas,
while it was simultaneously emerging in other cities as well. They were one of the earliest skate punk groups,
were featured in Thrasher skateboarding magazine and videos, and had their own Big Boys skateboard.
The group also is known for being the first punk band to introduce funk rhythms into hardcore, influencing later bands such as Red Hot Chili Peppers.
In his musical career, Randy " BISCUIT "Turner also played with Cargo Cult, Texas Biscuit Bombs, and Swine Kings.
Industry Standard (usually extended to Where's My Towel/Industry Standard)
is the debut studio LP by the American punk rock band Big Boys.
It was released in 1981 on vinyl through Wasted Talent Records, operated by members of the Judy's.
The album's title and many of its themes were inspired by a growing dissatisfaction with elements of the
Austin, Texas punk rock scene from which the Big Boys had spawned.
