Description

BUG BLACK- "Racer X" - Original Homestead E.P.

This is an original copy of Big Black's third EP when their sound was beginning to coalesce into the familiar, solid noise of "Atomizer". Contains some classics that were a regular part of the live Big Black set. This was pretty hard enough to find back in the days, I seem to recall.

Released on Homestead, 1985, catalogue number: HMS 007.

Condition:

EXCELLENT. Vinyl is unmarked and cover minor corner creases and ring wear.

NB: I use the Record Collector Magazine grading scale - see below for details.

Track listing:

Side one: "Racer X" \ "Shotgun" \ "The Ugly American"

Side two: "Deep Six" \ "Sleep!" \ "The Big Payback"

Shipping and postage

I pack all my records in extra strong, re-inforced DefendaPack record mailers. These are self-locking corrugated cardboard mailers - much stronger than the usual record mailers. I also take the vinyl out from the cover to prevent splitting and pad the whole package with bubble wrap to help ensure that records are not damaged in the post.

My packaging costs and weighs more than usual which does make my postage rates slightly more expensive. However, I can discount postage rates for multiple purchases:

  1 Record 2 Records 3 Records UK: £2.99 £3.25 £3.85 Europe: £3.75 £4.90 £6.00 Rest of the world: £6.20 £8.50 £10.70

Note that a double album counts as two single albums for postage purposes.

Record grading

I use the standard Record Collector Magazine scale for grading records:

MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and / or creasing.

VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.

FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and / or defaced.

POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD: The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection filler.
