Description

PRIORITY AIRMAIL POST AND PACKING IS $8.00 TO ANY COUNTRY HMV 10" LP Titled "The Best Of Elvis" RELEASED IN THE UK IN 1957 AND IS THE LAST OF THE 3 RECORDS PRESSED ON THIS LABEL BY HMV UK BEFORE RCA TOOK UP THE CALL. THIS RECORD WAS RELEASED 46 YEARS AGO AND IT REALLY IS IN GREAT CONDITION AND QUITE A RESPECTABLE KEEPER COPY UNTIL THAT MINT MINUS COPY COMES ALONG. I HAVE PLAY TESTED THIS RECORD "START TO FINISH" TWICE AND IT PLAYS EXCELLENT, HAS AN INTERESTING "SOUND" ABOUT IT AND IS A PLEASURE TO THE EAR. SIDE ONE

RECORD = VERY GOOD PLUS / PLAY TESTS = EXCELLENT (Pretty nice to look at, with only minor marks present...nothing that affects the play of the record!. One mark on side two looks like it may have been a problem as its long and goes with the groove part of the way, but it has no depth to the mark and played through it without fault. All in all The Record has been very well looked after and the original combination plastic and paper inner is still present and probably part of the reason the record is still in such nice condition.

COVER = SEE SCANS, for which I apologise for the size of the images and there subsesquent slowness in loading. But the Cover has numerous faults for which a large image can save the mind boggling description. Faults include, hairline creases and corner wear, surprisingly NO seam splits are present which is probably attributed with the tape that has been around the outer edges for so long! DO PLEASE NOTE that the edge discolouration is due to the edges having been taped with a blue coloured tape which has left a BLUE coloured residue on the innner of the sleeve (SEE SCAN at BOTTOM of PAGE) it has also left a blue tinge to the places where there are hairline splits and corner wear, basically where the lamination is broken, and the obvious fading of the cover except where the tape has been is fairly evident all the way around the outer edge of the cover. The cover actually looks better in the flesh than the scans (which have been done in two sections and joined) and this is even more so with the back cover which looks a lot better than the scan and doesn't have quite that much yellowing to it.
