Description

Beautiful copy of the original 1958 pressing of Berlioz’ Syphonie Fantastique conducted by Ataulfo Argenta on London blue-back stereo LP CS-6025. This is the earliest 1E/1E pressing. The disc is pressed in England with the same masters, same vinyl, and same pressing equipment as the UK Decca copies and sounds just as great. Truly a top audiophile recording here, in many people’s estimation the best ever version. Really a spectacular recording, and this copy is a spectacular sounding one. The disc looks gorgeous and plays absolutely flawlessly and just beautifully. There is a superficial scuff on side two which prevents me from grading it NM but it doesn’t make the slightest sound. The whole record plays without a single tick anywhere. Really a beauty of a copy. The cover has light shelfwear, with a slightly bumped lower right corner and very light edgewear and maybe surface scuffing, but really not much. The upper seam is splitting about 3/4”, not bad. There is some light discoloration on the back at the right edge and bottom right, but also not bad. Really this is a beautiful cover and a spectacular disc. Hard to top this copy.
