This is an extremely rare Vertigo Swirl pressing with red glasses on the cover. There is an even rarer 1971 UK 1st pressing with blue glasses on the front cover but that one tends to fetch between £900 & £1,200 and is impossibly difficult to find.

I am told that this one (with red glasses) is probably the rare Italian limited edition pressing from around 1979/80 - sometimes referred to as the 'counterfeit' pressing - but there is no mention of Italy on the label or sleeve. Unlike the UK 1st pressings, these red glasses cover LPs usually fetch between £150 and £400 depending on the condition - check out the 'Popsike' website for examples.

Unfortuately, I have no further information on this LP having purchased it second-hand. If anyone has the definitive answer (not guesswork) to the background to this pressing, I should be pleased to add the information to the listing.

Cover: Unlaminated gatefold cover (with red glasses on a tap on the front cover) is Excellent+. No writings, doodles or seam splits. Slight age spotting inside only.

Labels: Near Mint.

Vinyl: Excellent+. Lovely sheen. Lightly played - perhaps 5 or 6 times only.

Gradings......

Mint - The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality.

Excellent - The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality.

Very Good - The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch.

Good - The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches.

Fair - The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise, it may even jump.

Poor - The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc

Bad - The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection filler.
