Here is a great piece of Be-Bop jazz history. This is a copy of the 78rpm set "New Movements In Be-Bop" by Lionel Hampton and his orchestra. This set is autographed by several if not all the players in Hamp's 1950's touring band. It appears the owner of this set met Hamp and the whole band possibly back at the tour bus and got everyone to sign the record set. Most notable are the signatures of Lionel Hampton, Charles Mingus who signed twice, Johnny Spannon, Johnny Board, Red Granger, and Leo Moore. There are other signatures from more of the band members which are a little difficult to read but I'm sure they can be figured out. It is even signed by Gladys Hampton who I guess was Hamp's wife. I counted 19 autographs including even the tour bus driver. The records and the cover of the set are in excellent condition. A great piece of jazz history.
