This is the branch of the Lewis's store which was situated in Corporation Street , Birmingham , UK. The date on the receipt is "20 April '70", which is just three days after the official UK LP release date (17th April 1970) , and interestingly enough , the 20th April was the official USA LP release date...................

Condition of Vinyl:- Both sides of the disc have only the lightest possible signs of wear , no marks , just one or two of the lightest ' in and out of the liner sleeve ' surface traces , evident only beneath a bright light.

The sound quality is wonderful , no between track noise at all. Graded strictly at Visually EXCELLENT+/MINT minus , Aurally MINT condition.

Condition of Sleeve:- Light storage use , just a few small , light creases , crisp and clean : EXCELLENT condition.

Notes: Personnel: Paul McCartney (vocals, various instruments); Linda McCartney (background vocals). There were few '70s rock albums as widely anticipated as this, McCartney's first solo recording. In the wake of the Beatle's well-publicized acrimony, Paul must have felt like tweaking people's expectations, because this album turned out to be the most unconventional, resolutely non-commercial recording of his career. Don't be misled by the presence of the megahit "Maybe I'm Amazed." While that piano-based song of self-discovery and romantic devotion is a fine composition, it's an anomaly here. Most of the album is taken up by sonic experimentation and studio hijinks. McCartney does it all himself here (except for some harmonies from wife Linda), and his newfound privacy must have inspired him to explore the artistic boundaries of his muse in all directions, both inspired and downright silly. There are strange song fragments, percussion-centered instrumentals, and some spontaneous-sounding toss-offs, interspersed with the occasional Beatlesque pop tune ("Junk," the aforementioned "Maybe I'm Amazed"). This album is the sound of a man trying to cast off the chains of his reputation by indulging in some lighthearted experimentation and not a little unmitigated tomfoolery.

Please feel able to bid with confidence , as a collector myself I realize the requirements in the gradings of sleeves and discs , and how important it is to recieve items in the condition as advertised in listings ........I notice that the usual practice by many sellers on eBay is using the buzzwords 'Stunning' , 'Superb' , 'Awesome' 'etc etc etc...... and have grossly long-winded descriptions .............these 'experts' also add technical information , which is totally unrelated and untrue to actual facts , and would be laughable , but for the fact that it is misleading , and tends to hide the fact that the items on offer are only Average/Very Good , substandard items........and a 1000 word essay with vague photographs does not make what is a VG condition item into Mint condition item.................. I take time and care to grade items correctly and only list quality records........

I have been a lifelong music fan , my first concert visit was in 1957 (Birmingham Town Hall Skiffle Contest!) and have bought records of all the great music since 1959 , and had the privelege of seeing most of the great artists live too (I saw The Beatles twice....)
