Description
Up for auction is a copy of The Beatles AKA The White Album, by The Beatles, released in 1968. This copy is a rare export edition, probably pressed for the Portuguese market, and featuring Parlophone – rather than Apple - labels, and bearing the catalogue number P-PCS 7067 / 7068. It comes in a numbered (486301) top-loading cover, with lyric poster & four portrait inserts. Very rare.
Condition: the vinyl has certainly seen better days, with much wear to all four sides, and some serious marks to sides 3 & 4. Amazingly, it doesn’t actually sound too bad; while there’s a lot of background rustle & occasional repetitive clicks, there’s very little groove distortion. I’ve not listened to the whole package, so I can’t guarantee that there are no jumps/sticks, but I’ve tested the sections with most apparent damage, & they play fine. Labels have some pen marks on sides 3 & 4, repaired tape marks on sides 1 & 3, and wear around the centre hole on all sides. The cover, however, is in great condition, with some minor wear, and just a few thumb creases. The poster is also in great shape, with no tears, no writing & no other damage, just a minor handling fold or two. The photos are also decent, with one handling fold per photo, except Ringo’s, which has a bit of staining in the top right. The black inners are also present; one is in decent condition, the other is a little more tired. Summing up: G/F/VG+/VG+/VG+ (LP1/LP2/cover/poster/photos).
My grades: I use a 10-point scale: M-; EX; VG+; VG; VG-; G+; G; G-; F (fair); P (poor). I never use mint as a grade for used records. I am a long-time (25+ years!) record collector, and play-grade where possible. I don’t use stock photos: the item pictured here is the item for sale. My feedback from buyers indicates I normally undergrade in listings. Even so, if you have any problems, I'll give you your money back (less shipping costs), no questions asked. Buy with confidence!
