Embossed cover with low serial number of 0155011! Cover condition is VG+, perhaps better, due to some wear at the edges and a bend in the upper right-hand corner. There is a stain on the back cover (perhaps from a sticker?). Though the spine lamination has peeled over the years, all seams are strong and in NO danger of splitting. Insert photos are on the heavy card stock, in EXCELLENT condition, and the poster has never been hung so its folds are almost like new and without any tears, tape or pinholes! The vinyl is in EXCELLENT CONDITION with very little if any sign of having been played. There are pressure marks on the vinyl from the original black paper inner sleeves. Overall, an EXCELLENT copy of this extremely rare, historical album!

In addition to the rarity of finding an original UK press in shape as good as this, being MONO makes it all the more sought after due to the anomalies only found in this mix. A few of the many differences are listed here:

REVOLUTION #9: Although the mono was made from the stereo, the opening lines are more clear in mono: "I would've gotten claret for you but I've realized I've forgotten all about it, George, I'm sorry. Will you forgive me?". This is evidently a separate piece of tape added during mixing.
DON'T PASS ME BY: Mono runs faster, and it has more fiddle throughout the song, and different fiddle at the end.
BLACKBIRD: The overdubs of bird sounds were done differently, during mixing.
EVERYBODY'S GOT SOMETHING TO HIDE...: The screaming after "come on" in the last verse is different.
OB-LA-DI, OB-LA-DA: The mono lacks handclaps in the intro.
GOOD NIGHT: The stereo fades in, the mono does not!
SEXY SADIE: Mono lacks bass until the vocal starts.
HELTER SKELTER: The basic song runs about 3:10 to a pause shortly after Paul's distorted vocal, too close to the microphone. Mono then is edited into more of the same take, with sound effects noises, and fades at 3:36 while the stereo is edited instead to a different part of the take, fading out and then back in again, with another edit, ending finally at 4:29.
BACK IN THE USSR: The plane sound effects are different, the mono has louder piano, a yell after the opening plane sound, and drumbeats under the closing plane sound.
WHILE MY GUITAR GENTLY WEEPS: The Clapton guitar remains loud in mono after the solo break.
PIGGIES:The overdubs of pig sounds differ and the guitar is louder in mono.
HAPPINESS IS A WARM GUN: Mono has tapping (organ) on the beat from the start until the drums come in, in the stereo it is mixed out 4 beats earlier. Mono has louder bass in the "I need a fix" section and laughter near the very end, just before the last drumbeat, not heard in stereo version.
HONEY PIE: Mono has the full lead guitar break, slightly shortened in stereo. Vocal harmonies have a different feel, accenting Paul(?) more than usual.
SAVOY TRUFFLE: Mono has sound effects during the instrumental break and the lead guitar continues through the break into the refrain after it.

RECORD GRADING POLICY

Near Mint (NM): A nearly perfect record. There may be one or two small inaudible defects. The record should show no obvious signs of wear. A 45 RPM or EP sleeve should have no more than the most minor defects, such as almost invisible ring wear or other sights of slight handling. An LP jacket should have no creases, folds, seam splits or any other noticeable similar defect. No cut-out holes, either.

Near Mint Minus (NM-): A record that should play mint but has a few slight visible marks. The album will have as much luster as an NM, there just may be some superficial scuffs from the sleeve or very light hairlines that shouldn't be audible. An NM- album cover subjectively fits somewhere in between VG+ and NM.

Very Good Plus (VG+): A Very Good Plus record will show some signs that it was played and otherwise handled by a previous owner who took good care of it. Record surfaces may show some slight signs of wear and may have slight scuffs or very light scratches that don t significantly affect play. Slight warps that do not affect the sound are OK. The label may have some ring wear or discoloration, but it should be barely noticeable. The center hole will not have been misshapen by repeated play. Picture sleeves and LP inner sleeves will have some slight wear, lightly turned-up corners, or a slight seam-split. An LP jacket may have slight signs of wear also and may be marred by a cut-out hole, indentation or corner indicating it was taken out of print and sold at a discount.

Very Good (VG): Many of the defects found in a VG+ record will be more pronounced in a VG disc. Surface noise will be evident upon playing, especially in soft passages and during a song s intro and fade, but will not overpower the music otherwise. Groove wear will start to be noticeable, as will light scratches (deep enough to feel with a fingernail) that will affect the sound. Labels may be marred by writing, or have tape or stickers (or their residue) attached. The same will be true of picture sleeves or LP covers. However, it will not have all of these problems at the same time, just two or three of them.

Good (G), Good Plus (G+): Good does not mean Bad! A record in Good or Good Plus condition can be put onto a turntable and will play though without skipping. But it will have significant surface noise and scratches and visible groove wear. A jacket or sleeve will have seam splits, especially at the bottom or on the spine. Tape, writing, ring wear or other defects will start to overwhelm the subject.

Poor (P), Fair (F): Below good. imperfections will be described.
